British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Nigeria Following Deadly Road Accident

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, Nigerian authorities confirmed on Wednesday evening. The fighter was involved in a car accident outside Lagos on December 29th, a devastating event that took the lives of two of his team members.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

The boxer had been receiving medical attention while recovering from minor injuries, his promoter had said on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on social media that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.

“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.

A Tribute to the Fallen

The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. Omotoso added that the athlete was heartbroken and overcome with emotion over the passing of his two trusted companions.”

The news of his discharge follows the global fight fans had expressed condolences for the fighter in the wake of the devastating accident.
