Tributes Continue for the Reiners as Autopsy Reports Face a Security Hold.

Over a fortnight following the shocking loss of renowned film director Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, the entertainment community continue to honor the couple.

Quoting a Classic: Cary Elwes Remembers His Director

Writing on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, explained he finally felt able to express about his deep grief.

"Sufficient time has gone by that I can finally articulate my loss into words," shared Elwes, noting that his introductory moment with Reiner left him smitten. "Once we started spending more time together I understood this was someone I longed to have in my life."

The actor posted archival material from the production, commenting that he cannot recall "any day without laughter".

"The film is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Principles that Rob valued immensely. Which is among the many reasons he was the perfect person to helm it," Elwes continued.

He also paid tribute Michele Reiner, stating: "Asserting that they were a formidable pair would be an understatement. My heart still hurts every time I recall you." He ended with a phrase from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."

Martin Scorsese Recalls a Colleague and Comrade

In a distinct piece, revered director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.

"Right away, I loved hanging out with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes sharply witty, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese shared.

Scorsese pointed out Reiner's supporting role in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, playing the father of the lead role.

"He could improvise with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked wonderfully with his co-stars, and he understood the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese added.

Legal Developments: Autopsy Reports Sealed

This week, a Los Angeles court official decided to bar the publication of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, following a petition from the Los Angeles Police Department.

A legal directive placed a restriction on the cases to limit the public release of "all case details, notes, reports or photos" pertaining to the active case.

The Medical Examiner's office had earlier stated their deaths were the result of murder, with a public database listing the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".

Fallout and Commentary

In the wake of the deaths, public individuals expressed divergent responses.

Ex-President Donald Trump commented on the matter, making divisive remarks that were met with immediate backlash by numerous public figures.

Podcaster Joe Rogan lent his voice to the those speaking out recently. Conversing on his show, Rogan characterized the statements as "disappointing" and suggested they revealed a concerning absence of compassion.

Rogan finished by proposing that an adviser ought to have intervened when the choice to speak on the passing was made.
